Murray United Church, Nicola BC.

Built in 1876 by Rev. George Murray and the people of Nicola shortly after he settled there.
Previous to that he was the only presbyterian minister in the interior of BC.

Twentyfour Mile Lake BC

One end of a giant tailings pond at Twentyfour Mile Lake, between Logan Lake and Ashcroft BC. If you look closely you can see bulldozers and excavators working on this end of the banks. The lake itself is like the surface of another planet, the far end of the lake is the Highland Valley copper mine.

Built in 1920 and abandoned in 1980, this is the recently refurbished Kinsol Trestle Bridge, Cowichan Valley BC. Polaroid Chocolate.

Near Nanaimo

There are 5 or 6 of these old cars rotting in the woods near a small lake on Vancouver Island. My family took me out there because they thought I might want to shoot it. Thanks fam! Minor overlaps. Horizon.

Big Success

An abandoned car dealership that I drive by all of the time. It has a really cool shape and the windows are usually covered in posters. This time I stopped to take a few pictures. Horizon.

Silver and Light party, Vancouver BC.

I was lucky enough to meet Ian Ruhter, Will Eichelberger, Lane Power and Madeline Druce when they brought the Silver and Light project to Vancouver this past spring. This was an exhibition held in their rental house, to display the gigantic wet plate photos they took while in Vancouver. Pretty inspiring stuff.
Sorry the flare burned out your face from the backlight, Ian. I needed a bounce or something.
I had one more with a little more face detail, but the double art/ double Dano made this the winner.
Check out the photos Ian and his friends make here: http://ianruhter.tumblr.com/
Videos about the project, shot mainly by Lane Power (I believe) here: http://vimeo.com/39578584

Whitehorse 360 panoramic

I did manage to take some normal coloured pictures while in the Yukon. Overcast but the sun is trying....

Old Log Church, Whitehorse YT

On this trip I learned the difference between Fuji 64T type 1 and type 2.
When cross-processed: Type 1 gives green tones and white whites (which I like), while Type 2 gives you nuclear pink everything. Waaay over the top.
I mistakenly shot all of my last pictures of Whitehorse on Type 1 64T, and have had to suck out most of the colour to make them useable. I did the same to the green to semi-match.
I actually like the black and white style desaturated pink log church. Kinda wish the green one was pink as well.

2013 Legendary Banked Slalom, Mount Baker Washington.

Here's a peek at the Baked Salmon BBQ outside of the Raven Hut cafe at Mt Baker this year.
I attached the camera to a bamboo pole that was a part of the beer garden fence. I am actually lucky one of these came out, as drunk people kept bumping the fence/shaking the camera. Took a bunch but only one was good(ish). Spinner (with motor base).

BLVD Skateshop, East Vancouver BC

I recently got a motor base for my 360 panorama camera, which allows me to shoot in low light/indoor situations.
My first victim was my friend Kevin of Boulevard Skateshop in East Vancouver. He is on the leather couch, and the shoe bench. I'm looking in the display case at the far end. spinner. http://blvdskateshop.com/

Mount Baker

This weekend is Mt.Baker's legendary banked slalom race, one of the longest running snowboard events on the continent.
Over the years I have gone from racer to spectator, and now I just go to see old friends and enjoy the laid back vibe. (and to ride powder, duh.)
This morning I realized that I lost all of my panoramics from previous LBS weekends when my computer crashed a little over a year ago. Somehow this moody shot of a lonely snow pusher survived in a random folder. I dig it.
